Few issues are more important to Arizona than transportation. Arizona’s surface and air transportation infrastructure are vital to economic development, continued growth, and movement of commerce. Because of the shared international border with Mexico, Arizona’s roadways are some of the most utilized and significant in the country. These highways provide for the movement of goods and services all across the country. Without investment, the continued erosion of our infrastructure will cripple economic activity in the southwest and restrict the availability of goods to the regions of the western United States.

While Senator McCain staunchly opposes earmarks and wasteful projects that serve no purpose other than political patronage, he has always worked with the state, cities, and counties in Arizona, to ensure the proper resources are devoted to our region. As Arizona’s population continues to grow, easy, safe, and reliable transportation will be more necessary than ever.
