Oct 26 2017
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released a statement today following the briefing on Niger:
“The Senate Armed Services Committee was pleased to receive this morning’s briefing from the Department of Defense about the events in Niger. This was an important opportunity to get answers to our questions about the attack as well as the broader regional security situation. The information provided was helpful not only to our understanding of these important issues but also to the committee’s ability to perform our oversight responsibilities. We look forward to receiving regular updates and briefings from the administration moving forward.”
