Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) today released the following statement on negotiations with Iran:

“We remain skeptical of the Iranian regime's seriousness in negotiations to dismantle and destroy its nuclear weapons capability, and we reiterate our strong view that any interim agreement with Iran must result in tangible steps that demonstrate that Iran is prepared to abandon its pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability. As the current negotiations proceed, it is essential for the Congress to continue to keep the pressure on Iran's rulers. We therefore urge the Senate Banking Committee to mark up its bipartisan sanctions legislation as soon as possible.”
